Kibera women entrepreneurs, a tale of resilience
There are large numbers of poor women in Kibera slum despite the numerous economic
opportunities available for exploitation within the area and its environs. The area has a large
population that creates demand for goods and services. The women in Kibera could easily take
up these numerous opportunities by engaging in the various micro enterprises but only few do so,
this is because many of them encounter challenges that lead to the death of their enterprises,
according to various studies, three out of five enterprises fail within the first few months.

Our organization has been at the for front in executing economic empowerment programs for the women in Kibera. In the recent past we have trained diverse women self help groups, and helped them create beautiful jewelry which they are able to sell and generate incomes. This program has helped these groups really amazing products.
